#1. Migration (2009) by Doug Aitken

- What I don’t like is how creepy the video comes off. The animals being in weird places made me feel uncomfortable watching. For example, the horse standing in the middle of the hotel/motel. I also noticed how blurry the video is and I believe it is because it was made in 2009 and it is 2022, video production has improved a lot since then. I also noticed how the camera does closeups on the guests and keeps referring back to the animals. I am not sure what the message is behind this video, maybe they are trying to get people to come to the hotel/motel? There is no specific focus point, the video is all over the place to me. Personally, this video makes me want to go to sleep as if I am listening to the sleeping sounds and the video is slow-motion all throughout.

#2. Love Always Win (2018) by Michael W. Smith

- What I like about this video is the song goes with the video. You see people of different backgrounds, no matter their color, or race. All I see is good people helping people in need, no labels. Another thing I like is that the video is black and white, the loss of color in the video because it does not matter what color people are or where they come from, it is about helping those in need and that love has no color and always wins in the end. Out of all the videos, this is my favorite one. This video shows that there are people to help different communities and shows friendship.

#3. Primarily Speaking (1981-83) by Gary Hill

- This video is very strange and unusual. I see a theme of parallel pathways. What I see is the left and right brains are depicted in the side-by-side clips and this draws my attention to the center of the video.

#4. Mine (2009) by Liz Magic Laser

- This video is from the perspective inside of a purse. There is a lot of movement going on. Something I don’t like is that it takes me a minute to figure out what I am looking at and there is no sound and the camera gives a horrible view of what is going on.

#5. The Nightwatch (2004) by Francis Alys

- The first thing I noticed looking at this video is the angle. The angle is very high and the bird's eye view looks down. I feel like I am looking at a police investigation with a camera in the corner of the room and it is giving me sneaky vibes. The fox in the video travels through the rooms alone, and the snippets of the fox in each room make me wonder what it is up to next. I feel like the fox knows it’s being watched.

#6. Lyrica (2012) by Shana Moulton

- This video is clearly different from the rest, but I like that it is different. The theme I got from this was beauty, but in a weird way. What I took from this video is how society’s beauty standards can tear people down and make them feel bad. The camera has shots up close and personal.
